Mr Nicholas Stylianides is a Consultant Colorectal and General Surgeon based in Manchester. He was appointed as a Consultant at Manchester Royal Infirmary (Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust) in 2016 and provides specialist care for a wide range of colorectal and general surgical conditions.

Mr Stylianides completed his surgical training in the North West of England and undertook two post‑CCT fellowships to develop advanced expertise: a Laparoscopic Colorectal Fellowship at Bradford Royal Infirmary, followed by an Advanced Rectal Cancer Fellowship at Karolinska University Hospital in Stockholm, Sweden.

Alongside his clinical practice, Mr Stylianides is actively involved in training and education. He is a faculty member at the Mersey School of Endoscopy, teaching on the JAG colonoscopy course. He has completed a postgraduate certificate in medical education and teaches regularly.

Mr Stylianides has held national professional roles, including being elected President of the Dukes’ Club and serving on the Council of the Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland (ACPGBI) for the duration of his term.

In his private practice, Mr Stylianides consults at Spire Manchester Hospital and offers assessment and treatment for a broad range of colorectal and general surgical conditions. His areas of specialist interest include colonoscopy and robotic surgery, where appropriate to a patient’s condition and goals.

Mr Stylianides’ approach is patient‑centred: he aims to provide clear explanations, evidence‑based options, and a personalised plan, working closely with specialist colleagues as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated care from consultation through recovery.
